counting rows in ResultSet

hey you,

if you find difficulty to count number of rows in ResultSet, hope my experience I write below helps.

The problem usually comes up because you try these lines of code:

rs.last();
int i = rs.getRow();
rs.first();

*rs = ResultSet

rs.first() trigger SQLException that caused by a database access error occurs OR the result set type is TYPE_FORWARD_ONLY

the easiest way I figured out is by changing the type of ResultSet like this:

Statement st = conn.createStatement( ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE);



the 2 parameters of createStatement() method are resultSetType & resultSetConcurrency.
type of ResultSet are:
1. ResultSet.TYPE_FORWARD_ONLY
2. ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE
3. ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE

type of Concurrency are:
1. ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY
2. ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE

I've got some tips for you!
Hope it helps :)

Make sure (!), kamu tau pelajaran apa yang bakal dipelajari di jurusan itu.
jadi jangan sotoy, keren2an aja, ikut2an temen/pacar/ortu (hehehe.... yang ngejalanin kan kamu, bukan temen/pacar/ortu, so you should pick it right, okay?!!!).

Misalnya,
"Ah, gw kedokteran aja deh, walopun skolahnya lama, tapi keren jadi dokter, masa depan terjamin." Mungkin kamu ngebayangin dengan masuk kedokteran, kamu akan terlihat seperti 'anak yang pintar'. Ga juga kali...

These are the tips:
1. Kalo kamu milih jurusan, kamu harus wajib kudu mesti tau pelajaran/mata kuliah apa yang ada di jurusan tsb.
Jangan cuma tau judul mata kuliahnya aja, isi2nya juga harus tau. Dalam hal ini, kamu bisa cari info ke Tata Usaha fakultas tsb, brosur, atau tanya kakak kelas yang lagi belajar di jurusan tsb. Cari info seakurat mungkin. WARNING! Jangan tanya orang2 yang berpotensi memberikan informasi yang sifatnya SOTOY.


2. Setelah kamu tau, trus tanya diri kamu sendiri: "ini jurusan yang gw mau ga ya?", cocok ga sama yang kamu minatin/pengen.
That's actually not an easy question, you have to REALLY ask yourself setelah kamu tau: "Bener ga ini jurusan yg aku mau?" Kalo kamu punya banyak pilihan jurusan, jangan langsung bingung duluan, keep relax, take a deep breath, minta petunjuk sama Tuhan, & then decide WHICH ONE.

That's all the tips from me.
Pemahaman akan jurusan yang bakal diambil itu penting; just to make sure klo jurusan yang kamu ambil IS THE RIGHT ONE buat kamu.

kayak di negara2 Eropa Timur. denger2, frekuensi kompetisi hacking mereka tinggi banget jadi ga heran banyak hacker handal dari sana.

walopun masi sedikit ceweknya, tapi that's a good news! Indonesia punya potensi hacker cewek juga tnyata.

Telah berpulang ke Rahmatullah, guru Matematika SMA gw, Pak Chusnul.
Sediiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiihhhhhhhhhhh.................... banget rasanya!!!
He's one of my favorite teachers in my high school.

Kalo ngebayangin Pak Chusnul, gw selalu inget kalo dia punya peran signifikan dalam development skill Matematika gw. He always show me his confidence that I am good at Math, and simple thing that I can't ever forget: I turned him down when he asked me to participate in Math Olympic selection when I was in High School *wanna cryyyyyyyyyy*

this is the fact,
of all my blog's visitors, mostly they came across my blog because they're looking for Kwon Sang-woo, I may say, an icon of Korea.
34.56% is the number, dominating other keywords, even my own name keyword *huh*
more shocking fact, some of the visitors came from northern and southern part of America continent.
but anyway, seems he's done great job out there...

i missed his visit to Jakarta, Indonesia on last September coz I was in Brisbane, Aussie. so sad....
i'm always hoping he has chance to visit Brisbane within 2007 coz I'm graduating this December and going back to Indonesia then... :p
