The title is 'Kantoi', it's a Malay word that means 'busted', sung by Zee Avi. When I heard this song for the first time, I thought it's a 50's or 60's song, like an oldies song. Go listen ;)

Me promotes BuAB in the Jakarta Globe

On an unique date 09-09-09, the Jakarta Globe featured an article of me promoting BuAB.

BuAB is a book-drive my friends and I founded in 2007. It collects books from Australia to be delivered to disadvantaged schools throughout Indonesia. To date, approximately 15,000 books weighing for 2.9 ton has arrived in the hands of children/students in at least 30 schools in 15 provinces.

BuAB has been very lucky to be able to attract donors that made huge donation each year. However, BuAB really needs donors that are able to help distribute the books from Australia to Indonesia (Jakarta) and from Jakarta to many provinces in Indonesia as it will cover most of the cost that lies on the distribution. Goo Hye Sun - Breathe

This Korean artist is just so talented. You can see her acting skill in Korean version of Boys Over Flowers. You can enjoy her drawings that were exhibited few months ago. And now she released her debut album called 'Breathe' that I enjoy very much!

Didn't expect much in the first place actually. But after heard the songs in the album, I just can say these piece of arts are just beautiful, lovely, fascinating. Love it! Enjoy her songs through this link.

Make your photo black & white (B&W) using Photoshop

I use my Picasa a lot to make any photo/pic black and white (B&W) in a sec. But today I want to edit icons. Unfortunately, Picasa doesn't take icons (.png file). I get back to my Photoshop but I have no idea in making photo black & white. My colleague said it has somethin to do with saturation. Okay, got 1 keyword: saturation. Now the task is how to modify saturation in Photoshop. Came across this article which is helpful. Now I get it!

Gmail Message Translation

Just enabled Message Translation feature on my Gmail yesterday. I tried translating a friend's short email few minutes ago and never expected the result would be that good. You know, for all this time I am always sceptical about any translation feature. I think this has changed my mind now.

Alhamdulillah! Ketemu lagi sama Ramadhan tahun ini. Dan tahun ini cukup spesial karena dapat mencicipi Ramadhan di Indonesia (terakhir Ramadhan di Indonesia tahun 2005).

Selagi bulan Ramadhan, boleh dong kita prioritaskan untuk meningkatkan amal ibadah kita. Mungkin di antara kalian ada yang sudah berniat untuk mengkhatamkan Qur'an, ada yang sudah berniat memperbanyak solat sunah (qobliyah, ba'diyah, dhuha, tarawih, tahajud, witir), ada yang berniat tidak mengucapkan kata-kata kotor, dan sebagainya.

Misalnya, ada di antara kalian yang bertekad sholat tarawih-nya ga bolong, 30 hari full. That's really good! Misalnya lagi, ada orang non-Islam yg penasaran sama kalian yg sholat Tarawih tiap malam, jadi dia tanya2: "Apa si sholat Tarawih? Kenapa si melakukan sholat Tarawih? Apa keistimewaan sholat Tarawih? Kenapa dilakukan waktu malam hari? Ga siang-sing aja", bakalan tok-cer kalau tahu juga jawabannya selain melakukan tarawih ga bolong selama 30 hari.

Poin yang berusaha Mika sampein itu adalah ibadah yang kalian lakukan bulan Ramadhan ini bakal lebih sempurna kalau kalian tahu dan paham akan makna ibadah yang kalian lakukan. Tidak hanya melakukan melakukan ibadah dengan serajin-rajinnya, tapi juga tahu makna di dalamnya. Ini yang sedang Mika berusaha lakukan Ramadhan ini. Semoga Ramadhan ini ibadah & pengetahuan agama Mika & teman-teman bertambah banyak. Amiiin....
